Baby Hat

I found this free pattern on bernat.com, you have to create a free account to be able to look at the patterns on their site, but its worth it. They have a lot of nice things. It was really quite easy and they have a pattern for crochet or knit. I knitted this one. And just for fun I added the pom-pom. I can't wait to try it on my baby!

Baby sweater

This is a baby sweater that I crocheted for our new baby boy. It was a free pattern from http://www.caron.com/projects/br/br_cno986_baby_hoodie.html. The pattern is for a bigger baby, but since I wanted it to be for a newborn I used a size E/4-3.50MM crochet hook and baby soft yarn. It turns out to be about the size of newborn clothes. It is really easy and quick to make. I made this one for my baby and I made one for a lady at our church and my sister-in-law all in about the space of 3 weeks or so and believe me, I didn't have a lot of time to work on it every day!

Burp Cloths

Here is another really neat project that I found that takes very little effort and turns out Great!
These burp cloths are very inexpensive to make, make nice gifts and are a modern version of a burp cloth. I found the pattern on www.homemadebyjill.blogspot.com. I have a link to this blog on my blog. Mine didn't turn out exactly like the pattern, but close enough. I used the same fabric on some of them as my nursing covers, so they match! Give them a try! These pictures show the front and back of the ones I made. I ended up with 6 total out of the scrap fabric I had left over from the covers!

Nursing Covers

I made these nursing covers recently. I found the directions on the blog www.littlebirdiesecrets.blogspot.com, I have a link to this blog on my blog. They turned out really nice and I just wanted to share the ones I made using this pattern. I made a few adjustments and did a few things different on one of them. The brown one with blue polka dots I made a little smaller, put a backing in a turquoise solid fabric, and instead of making the straps as the directions called I used a ribbon that matched the fabric. The final dimensions for this one were 25x43 1/2. The great thing about these covers is that you can make them as big or small as you like. This one was smaller than the original pattern b/c This was all the fabric they had left in this print and I loved it!


The next one I made was white with blue polka dots. I made this one just as the pattern called.

I haven't gotten to try them out yet, my baby is due in March. But I made one for my sister-in-law and she loved it and said it worked great!
